Want your reports or public open house materials to look better? Here are a couple of resources that will help. The best part: they’re free!
Pedbikeimages – a searchable archive of royalty-free images of pedestrian, cycling and transit infrastructure. Need an image of, say, a bike box or a floating transit stop for a report or public open house? Just punch your keywords into the search bar and voila!
Please note: even though you don’t need to pay to use the images, there are usage rules dictated on your site. You’ll have to credit the photographer and pedbikeimages, and there restrictions on commercial or objectionable use.
Streetmix – a very cool tool that lets you drag and drop to quickly create good-looking cross-sections, complete with properly-scaled people, vehicles, buildings, and street furniture. Widths of all components can be adjusted to suit the width of your right-of-way. If you want to chat with the developers or find out what new features are on their way, you can check out Streetmix’s Discord.
